Hey Jon Was Just Wondering At What Weight Would You Start To Wear A Belt On While Doing Deadlifts?
    Much Appreciated,
    John

Very well done! My one rep max is 130kg at the moment, hoping to get the 140kg in the next couple of weeks then i’ll be well chuffed (i’m 70kg). Then I saw this video…unreal!

  6. thats crazy my max deadlift is 140 and thats not even stiff legged. How could I increase my 1 rep max?

  7. Cool. I started dead lifting yesterday at 100 kg or 225 pounds. Thing is, like after dead lifting like 5 sets of 5 my hands are like torn, and hurt when i wash my hands / grab a pencil. Any tips?

Fuck me, im 18 and i can only do this bout 6 times in a row before im knackered, fair play to ya man.

No, that’s a one off – just for fun! I trained up to those reps over several weeks though. I normally stick to stiff-leg deads and work with about 160kg for around 10-15 reps.

  10. Fuckin hoss man that was awesome

  11. Damn strong guy.

  12. Hey Jon, just a question about what you mean by Higher-reps. Do you traditionally aim for 34 reps? I find that to be a whole lot for a single set.

thats impressive lifting, plus you must have a good cardio to go for 32 reps

  14. u use hook grip? if u allready do, try just standing with some heavy weights and see how long u can hold on….

Thanks, I use straps here and would recommend them for your heavy back work. However deadlifting without straps will help to improve your natural grip strength though.

  16. awesome vid

jst wondering, im 17 and deadlifting 140kg x 10 but i feel like my grip is the weak link and i could do at least 155/60 for 10 if i could grip the bar, do you know of any grip strength routines or would you recommened straps

  17. Makes me feel very weak.Lol.

Cheers Tony, it’s a good back builder for sure. Hamstrings were really sore too (for several days).

Looking forward to seeing your attempt at this challenge!

    Awesome Jon, inspirational :)
    U can’t get more thickness than u have ;)

Yes, higher-rep deadlifts along with plenty of strict rowing has defintely helped develop my back thickness over the last few years.

Thanks! I think 200kg for 10 reps might be possible. I’m going to try 180kg for reps next time. Hoping for 15+ but we’ll see.

You’ve mentioned elsewhere that you had some difficulty in developing your (now awesome) back. Was this exercise the remedy to that condition?

    That’s mighty impressive lifting!!!

Just out of interest what sort of weight would you do for 10 reps?
